A familiar silhouette, seen differently.
In the September 2026 issue of GMARO Magazine, the MAISON MOTEMA Maam Bag in Burgundy enters a world of dark wood, exaggerated florals and richly layered silhouettes.

Photographed by Adam Dowling and styled by Sarah Jane Nigen, the editorial plays with scale and contrast. Against it, the Maam Bag feels almost architectural: compact and precise, its burgundy Italian leather punctuated by sculptural hardware.
There is a particular pleasure in seeing a design removed from the context in which it was created.
The Maam began in our atelier as an exploration of proportion: a small, structured form with enough presence to hold its own. There is little excess. The curve of the body, the depth of the burgundy leather, the placement of the hardware — each element has a purpose.
In the pages of GMARO, those details become something else.

The burgundy deepens against black. Polished leather meets feather and texture. An oversized flower introduces an almost surreal sense of scale. The bag remains unmistakably Maam, yet the image offers a new way of looking at it.
Perhaps that is one of fashion’s more interesting conversations: the one between the person who creates an object and the person who later interprets it.
A piece leaves the atelier. A stylist places it in another world. A photographer finds another angle. And the object begins another life.
For MAISON MOTEMA, that dialogue matters.
The Maam, in Burgundy. Seen through another lens.
