Your life is not standard. Your bag does not have to be either.

Begin your MAISON MOTEMA Bespoke commission with a private 45-minute design consultation with Founder & Creative Director Verlaine-Diane. Together, we explore the foundations of your future piece: from silhouette and proportion to leather, color, carrying style, hardware, closure and interior organization.

You do not need to arrive knowing exactly what you want. The purpose of the consultation is to understand your needs and translate them through the design language of MAISON MOTEMA.

During your 45-minute appointment, we will explore:

  • Carrying Style
  • Leather & Color
  • Hardware & Construction
  • Interior Architecture

What you actually carry—from your phone and keys to a laptop, glasses or lipstick—and how the interior can respond to those needs.

Each approved commission is then entrusted to our Atelier and made by hand.

Please note: The $200 consultation fee covers the private design consultation and initial development of your bespoke direction. The handbag itself is quoted and commissioned separately.

Care

Your Maison Motema bag is crafted in pure leather, designed to travel with you and age with grace. To maintain the beauty and integrity of your purchase, we recommend treating it with care. Simple maintenance practices, such as gentle handling and proper storage, can effectively preserve the longevity of your bag.

To preserve its beauty:

  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, heat, or humidity.
  • Keep away from oils, perfumes, and liquids that may stain the leather.
  • When not in use, store in its dust bag, in a cool and dry place, keeping its natural shape.
  • Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh cleaners or solvents.
  • With time, the leather will develop its own patina — a testament to journeys lived and stories carried.
  • Bronze is a living metal: it may deepen with time. Simply polish with a specialist bronze product.

This is slow luxury. Handle with care, carry with freedom.

Every Maison Motema piece is shaped by hand in our Dakar atelier — full-grain leather and signature bronze hardware, built to carry with quiet confidence and worn into its own patina over years, not seasons.
